Ece Kalabak graduated from the Painting Department of Mimar Sinan Fine Arts University in 2005. During her final years at university, she began working with animation and continued her career as an art director until 2008. In 2006, she received an Honorable Mention at the Art Interview Online Magazine Artist Competition in Berlin and participated in the accompanying exhibition at Gallery Twenty-Four. The same year, she took part in the 1st Sinop Biennial with an installation-based group project and exhibited at Contemporary Art Istanbul. Since 2008, her illustrations have appeared in publications such as Bant Magazine, Altyazı Cinema Magazine, and Barcelona-based Rojo Magazine. Her short animation Little Dreams was broadcast on MTV Break, while her animated film Love Styles was screened at the Resfest Film Festival. She has also produced illustrations for album releases including Ceylan Ertem’s Soluk and Canan Turan’s Düğüm.

Beginning her artistic journey with oil painting over two decades ago, Kalabak currently works across illustration, animation, character design, and digital arts, collaborating with independent game studios while actively producing NFT artworks. Her recent practice focuses on exploring multiple visual styles and mediums through blockchain-based works, using NFTs as a space for experimentation and personal expression. Drawing from fictionalized autobiographical elements, her work presents viewers with open-ended narratives that resist definitive beginnings or conclusions.
